Valletta — President Moncef Marzouki had, on Saturday in Valletta, a talk with Maltese Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi.

The meeting, held on the sidelines of President Marzouki's participation in the Second 5+5 Dialogue Summit of the heads of State and government of the western Mediterranean countries, hosted by Maltese capital Valletta on October.

In a statement to the media, Mr. Marzouki pointed out that the talk had helped look into the co-operation opportunities between Tunisia and Malta, particularly in the emigration, oil prospection and higher-education and scientific research fields.

The meeting was also an occasion to examine means to develop judiciary co-operation between the two countries with a view to easing prisoners' exchanges, added President Marzouki.

He called on the two countries to further develop and diversify their relations to meet the requirements of the present stage.

The two leaders agreed on encouraging cultural and university exchanges, by means of a scholarship and study stays programme.
