Jerera — Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai warned yesterday that he could pull out of the inclusive government if his supporters continued to be victims of political violence.
Addressing thousands of villagers at Rutenga grounds in Zaka yesterday, Tsvangirai said he would soon convene an emergency council meeting to decide whether or not to stay in the inclusive government.
He accused President Robert Mugabe of being a hypocrite, who denounced violence by day and promoted it by night.
"I am pained. My message to Mugabe is that we can't pretend to be working together when violence is taking place," said Tsvangirai.
"I am going to call an emergency council meeting to see if it is worth it to continue in the government of national unity.
"Shall we continue to turn a blind eye when my supporters are being tortured, when diamonds are being looted?"
He said he would also confront Mugabe and tell him to "shape up or the MDC-T will ship out".
"I will confront him and look him in the eye to see if he still wants the unity government to continue. We are sick and tired of hypocrites," said the tough-talking PM.
The MDC-T leader said it would be morally wrong for him to end up President at the expense of the people.
"I will not step on dead bodies to State House, as long as I am living and as long as I am still MDC-T president, I will not walk past burnt houses to state house," he said.
Tsvangirai sharpened his tone against perpetrators of political violence as he toured some of the victims of violence in Zaka as part of MDC-T's Victims Commemoration day.
He came face-to-face with victims of recent political violence after the party's ward chairman, Nelson Bvudzijena, was injured when his house was petrol-bombed last week.
He paid Bvudzijena a visit at St Anthony's Musiso Hospital.
"We have politicians who shed crocodile tears like Mugabe," said Tsvangirai.
"He denounces violence. That's hypocrisy we do not want. If he is serious, why can't he stop that violence instead of just saying it without any action?"
He said it was worrying to note that four years into the inclusive government, MDC supporters continued to be beaten by known perpetrators who walked scot-free.

I knew it!The mother has nothing to offer to the Zimbabean populace,he is not prepared for the elections, has got personal issues with himself...and now he want to use emotions to woo voters!Cheap!
Britain, see the useless monster you have created?I hate cry-babies!
Morgan Tsvangirai spoke of "pulling out of the INCLUSIVE government" and NOT pulling out of his MDC political leadership.
Mugabe had better shape up as he is cutting off the hand that feeds him by continually committing violence against MDC supporters. Forcing MDC to pull out of the inclusive government will bring Zimbabwe right back to where it was before they came into the scene. Where was Zimbabwe then? Think back. It was Flat broke, the Zimbabwean dollar worth shit, 95% unemployment, and Zimbabweans aghast. Without MDC, Mugabe alone has no credit - not even amongst his own 53 African countries.
Geopolitical debates are realy a problem to the ignorent.
Say,a man has got nothing to offere his family, and everytime it is time to go and buy grocery,he runs into the street and bleet abuse by his village chief. How long will the neighbours and fellow villagers take his melodramatic actions?
The drama queen, inspired by Days of Our Lives, simply has nothing to offer the electorate and will come with all tricks that will see him enjoying government positions. He knows he will not win elections,Western researches also confirmed that.
Now Kjrs, stop acting like you are interested in Zimbabwean politics. You are not, because of you were you would know that the MDC was a result of the evil Brentwood institutions Structural Adjustment Programmes force-fed as a solution by these Western NGOs.
Before that,Zim was what you and your uncles called a breadbasket. Any African scholar can tell you about the adverse effects of toiling with the World Bank and IMF's SAPs.Currency get devalued.Civil servants loose jobs.Focus is on importing.Minerals loose value.Austerity measures affect education, agriculture, etc. It is then that Tsvangison, the stupid union rep (guided by Britain) took advantage of the distressed citizens and made false promises. He resonated well to the distitute white farmers, who sponsored his trips around the globe as he canvassed for sanctions. We are in this mess because of the British-made MDC!
So,your stupid comment about biting a hand applies to your gate boy.The time he was taking his whole party on 'official' tours, where were his violence allegations? Why must the claims pop up now as elections near?
Kjrs32,your argument is nt politics but the farms that your family has lost. So,stop confusing yourself. We know your hope is that the gateboy will win to let you back.Let me disappoint you: MDC-T will not win the elections.
If your yes-boy decides to withdraw from election contest too, other MDC factions are still there. What will be next, arming them like you are doing with terrorists in Syria?

Pfize au contraire. You watch too many soap operas distorting your understanding of our national politics.
Firstly, Your response to KJRS120 to the effect, "If your yes-boy decides to withdraw from elections...." is your inability to read. It is "pull out of the INCLUSIVE GOVERNMENT." This means Tsvangirai continues the MDC leadership leading to elections.
Secondly, how right KJRS120 is when he/she reminds us of the dire situation we all faced prior to the MDC forming a unity government. As a whole our country credits that "unity" with MDC with the return of food and other goods to those empty shelves followed by the replacement of our worthless Zim. dollar by the American dollar giving our people a sense of well being. I don't know where YOU were, but I know having gone through very tough and austere times before the merge. So no matter what denial you have, the fact remains that Mugabe on his own failed or SADC would not have taken those steps.
Thirdly, there again I do not know from whence you hail or obtain your misguided information, but as a Zimbabwean I can tell you that the power- sharing pact was fostered by the SADC, a 15 member African leadership club at the Extraordinary Summit in Pretoria in 2009. The whole aim was to mend an economy ravaged by hyperinflation and to avoid continued altercations in the aftermath of the Mugabe-bloody presidential run-off election. To this end parties agreed to draft a new constitution, amend media and electoral laws to ensure a next election that is free and fair. Spinning you own rubbish helps no one.
By the way KRS120 well said.
