Babati — TRADERS, mostly rice dealers operating from Magugu Township in Babati district, Manyara region, are opposed to the proposed construction of a bus terminal in the area saying that it will block their shops.
Magugu is famous for paddy growing and trade has led to mushrooming of shacks along the Babati-Arusha highway and the owners are now worried that construction of a bus terminal may hurt their businesses. They also claim that the terminal will not only hurt their businesses but also make the area too small and congested.
