Nigeria: FG to Tax Airlines, Phone Users for HIV/Aids Funding

The federal government says it is considering taxing air passengers and phone users including companies operating within the country as one of the ways to fund HIV/AIDS in Nigeria.

According to the proposal, $1is to be paid by domestic passengers in economy class while passengers on business and first class domestic flights would pay $6. Besides, $12 is to be paid by international passengers in economy class as $60 is expected from business and first class international passengers.
