Southern Africa: SADC Trade Related Facility

Maputo — From September 26 to 27 in Gaborone, Botswana, the Mozambican delegation made up of members of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation and CTA representing the private sector, participated in a workshop whose main objective was to improve the conceptual framework and the SADC Trade Related Facility to accelerate the regional integration process and assist Member States in their negotiations with the European Union under the framework of the Economic Partnership Agreements (EPA).

Note that the Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs) are free trade agreements that are, since 2002, negotiated between the European Union (EU) and African, Caribbean and Pacific countries (ACP) under the Cotonou Agreement, signed in 2000.
