Rwanda: Immigration Body to Register Foreign Residents

The Directorate General of Immigration and Emigration (DGI&E) will from Monday, October 15 to November 1, 2012 start registering all foreigners residing in Rwanda. The registration will be carried out at the district immigration offices as well as the at the immigration headquarters.

In an interview with The Rwanda Focus yesterday, Ange Sebutege, a Communication and Customer Care officer at DGI&E said the main objective for the registration is to issue electronic resident ID cards, which will replace the Green card that they have been using.
