Nigeria: Fresh Flood Alert - Kogi Assures Citizens of Safety

Lokoja — Following the recent alert that more water may be released from some dams, the Kogi State government yesterday said that it has put measures in place to ensure the safety of its citizens.

The state's deputy governor, Arc Yomi Awoniyi, who is also the chairman, State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), said yesterday that the state is in touch with the countries and states where the dams are located, and that people will be informed on the need to move in the event of any release.
