Kenya: Man Killed By Hippo in Rombo

Fishermen have died in Lake Victoria.

A 34-year-old businessman yesterday died after being attacked by a hippopotamus at the Lwanda Rombo Beach in Lake Victoria.

Linus Odhiambo was bathing at the lake 1pm when the animal pounced on him. His colleagues Vincent Otieno,16, and Elijah Ochieng, 38, escaped unhurt.

Police officers, Kenya Wildlife officials and fishermen at the lake recovered the body several hours of search. The body was taken to Homa Bay District Hospital Mortuary.
