Angola: Bna to Make 5.000 and 10.000 Kwanza Notes Next Year

Lobito — The new 5.000 and 10.000 Angolan Kwanza notes will be made in the year 2013, but they will only be put in circulation when the economic so demand.

This was announced last Thursday, in Lobito City, central Benguela Province, by the governor of the National Reserve Bank (BNA), José de Lima Massano, at the opening of the First National Treasury Meeting.

According to José Massano, the new notes will be made next year but they will be kept out of circulation until there is justification to place them in the market.

The First National Treasury Meeting is being attended by 20 commercial banks, ten firms and seven regional departments of the BNA, making up a total of 20 specialists, is discussing this Friday themes like "The importance of using coins in the economy" and "The contribution of banks in the improvement of the quality money circulation".

The lectures are being delivered by national and foreign specialists.

The event is to close this Friday afternoon.
