Angola: Cape Verde Counts On Country's Experience in Defence, Security

Luanda — Cape Verde counts on the experience and capacity of Angola to reinforce its defence and security sector in the current situation in the West Africa region, Angop learnt.

This was said by Cape Verde's ambassador to Angola, Domingos Mascarenhas, in statements to the press, after an audience with the National Assembly (Angolan Parliament) speaker, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos.

The diplomat said his country is interested in deepening existing co-operation in the mentioned area. "We continue to count on

the availability, capacity and experience of Angola in order to reinforce Cape Verde in the strategic domain of defence and security," he said .

In March this year, both sides agreed to increase co-operation in the technical-political area considering to extend it to matters of criminal investigation, particularly in the exchange of information in the domain of organised crime.
