Nigeria: Ondo - Mimiko Retains Governorship Seat

The re-elected governor of Ondo State Olusegun Mimiko, Labour Party candidate

Labour Party candidate and incumbent governor of Ondo State, Olusegun Mimiko has polled the highest votes in Saturday's election, INEC Returning Officer in the state, the Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), Professor Adebiyi Daramola has said.

According to Daramola, Mimiko pulled a total of 260,199 votes to defeat his closest challenger of PDP's Olusola Oke who polled 155,961 votes. ACN's Rotimi Akeredolu polled 143,512 votes.

Daramola said Mimiko won in 13 local governments; ACN won in 3 and PDP in 2 respectively.
