Eritrea: 2,000 KM-Long Dirt Roads to Be Renovated and Constructed in Gash-Barka Region

Barentu — The Administration of Gash-Barka region indicated that a total of 2,000 Km-long dirt roads would be renovated and constructed in the region in the year 2013.

The regional Administrator, Mr. Mohammed Hamd, made the disclosure during a meeting with the inhabitants of Logo-Anseba and Mensura sub-zones.

Mr. Mohammed Hamd said that future undertakings of the Administration would focus on the construction of water reservoirs in Logo-Anseba sub-zone, besides enhancing endeavors towards boosting agricultural production and ensuring sustainability of social service facilities. Moreover, he stated that various programs would be launched with a view to fostering socio-economic activities in the region, and called on the inhabitants to back endeavors for the realization of the cherished goals.

Mr. Mohammed further explained that infrastructure and social service facilities in the region have played significant role regarding the improvement of the inhabitants' livelihood.

The participants of the meeting put forth views and opinions on several issues.
