Egypt: Sharia Should Be Implemented Without Voting and Secularists Should Find Another Home

Younis Makhion, a member of the constituent assembly and a member of the supreme council of El Nour Salafi party, called upon the Egypt people to vote in the constitutional referendum in support of Sharia, in case the draft constitution will in fact enact Sharia law. "Although Sharia law must be applied law without voting on it", he added.

Makhion, at a conference organized by El Nour Salafi party in Suez, said that the Salafi members in the constituent assembly faced disagreement with what he called 'secularists' on the text regarding the implementation of Sharia or only its principles. He added "I said to the secular parties if you are looking for a secular constitution, then you have to look for people other than the Egyptian people because the Egyptian people love the rule of Sharia."
