Angola: Heavy Rains Kill 14 People in Two Months in Huambo

Huambo — At least fourteen people died in Huambo province since September so far, following the heavy rains hitting the region, many of them accompanied by strong winds, Angop has learnt.

This was announced by the provincial commander of fire and civil protection, João Ricardo, who also announced the destruction of 402 residences, displacement of 407 families and a total of 2,035 affected people.

A plan for prevention of natural disasters is already in course in the region, says the source.
