Rwanda: Agaciro - Rwandans in Burundi Raise Over U.S.$100,000

Rwandans and friends of Rwanda living in Burundi have contributed USD 114,927 for the Agaciro Development Fund (AgDF).

This was during a gala dinner held on Friday at Royal Palace Hotel, Bujumbura. The event of the evening raised USD 84,700 and 44,585,000 Burundian Francs (equivalent to USD 30,227); total: USD 114,927

During the dinner, Ambassador Augustin Habimana and Silas Sinyigaya, the President of the Association of Rwandan Professionals living in Burundi, explained the Agaciro concept updated the gathering on the amount raised so far.

"Your money will be used adequately. The Fundraising process is also still ongoing and the new pledges are still welcome," Habimana said.

Over Rwf 18 billion has been contributed for the Agaciro Development Fund, an initiative set up to raise more domestic resources to help accelerate the country's economic development.
