Bor — The Twic East County of Jonglei state traditional wrestling champion, Mr. Athiei Chol Akuei also known as Chol-Ameng last Tuesday had an interview with The Citizen newspapers in Bor. Athiei who has as an experience is enthusiastic and energetic wrestler whose vision is not onl based at state level but also ready to extend it to the national level.
He is strongly confident that he is the leading wrestler in Jonglei state ignoring Majok Jong-riir and Ajang Garang who luckily gave him unbelievable challenge at national stage last year.
The twenty eight year old talented wrestler revealed to the Citizen Newspaper that he is standing by to face any giant wrestler who is prepared to oppose his emergence in this field of his expertise. Wenne -Chol Ameng had also emphasized on their preparation towards the national wrestling competition which will take place on 27th October 2012 in Juba, the competition will be between Jonglei state and Central Equatoria.
Athiei is urging government of South Sudan to improve the system of wrestling by building stadiums in all states despite the fact that some states do not have wrestling background, this would help in the nurturing of cultures and it would also create peace, unity and social interactions amongst the youth of South Sudan.
Chol-Ameng is encouraging the upcoming youth who are also gifted in wrestling not to give up because this is a unique part of the sport which is only active in South Sudan and it's also marketable.
