Ethiopia: Airline Named as the Best African Airline

African Travel Quarterly, a renowned West African travel magazine named Ethiopian Airlines as the best African Airline of the Year 2012. Representatives of Ethiopian Airlines received the award at the 8th Africa Travel Fair held in Lagos, Nigeria, from October 22-24.

Ethiopian was selected as the best airline due to its long and successful aviation history and for being the first airline to own Boeing 787. Captain Desta zeru, Vice President of flight operations of Ethiopian also received a special "Africa Legend of Travel" award. In related news, the Ethiopian Airlines signed a ten years technical cooperation agreement with the German carrier, Lufthansa. The agreement will enable Ethiopian to get maintenance and logistics services for its newly imported Boeing 787 dreamliner.
