Libyan Interior Ministry officials arrived in Bani Walid to oversee the deployment of security forces and assess the needs of the local hospital, Libya Herald reported on Sunday (October 28th). On October 24th, Libyan army chief Youssef al-Mangoush declared the town liberated after a week of fighting and a one-month siege.

In related news, Tripoli Post reported that Italian Foreign Minister Giulio Terzi instructed its diplomatic mission to monitor the humanitarian situation in Bani Walid. Italy declared its readiness to provide medical support to those in need.
