Kenya: Investment Schemes Eyeing Oil, Energy

Over 60 investment scheme representatives from Kenya and Uganda converge in Naivasha tomorrow to deliberate on regional investment.

According to the Managing Director, PineBridge Investments Jonathan Stichbury, the participants will explore the current investment environment and new opportunities in East Africa.

"There are a lot of emerging opportunities in East Africa thus the need to engage our clients about them," Stitchbury said.

The conference will cover investment opportunities in infrastructure development, new opportunities in the oil sector, energy and real estate.

Data indicates that schemes in Kenya currently have a combined value in excess of about Sh400 billion, while Ugandan schemes have are worth about Ush2.5 trillion.
