Zambia: Kasempa Accountant in Hot Soup

AN accountant in Kasempa in North-Western Province has been arrested for theft involving more than K300 million, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has said.

In a related development, the ACC has arrested a First Quantum Minerals (FQM) employee for theft of K1 million.

ACC spokesperson Timothy Moono, confirmed the arrest of Jairos Ndalama, an employee of the Ministry of Education at Kasempa Boys High School, who has been charged with theft by public servant.

Ndalama, between February 1 and February 10, this year, allegedly stole K320 million from the Ministry of Education.

He appeared in the Solwezi Magistrate's Court on Monday and was remanded in custody. He would appear for mention on November 15, this year.
