Nigeria: We Are Creating Another Abuja in Nasarawa, Says Al-Makura

Lafia — Nasarawa State Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura yesterday told the Labaran Maku led Good Governance Tour team that his administration has an ongoing project to make Nasarawa look like Abuja in terms of development.

"We have the largest boundary with Abuja, and we are taking full advantage of that. We have initiated a system in line with our blueprint, to reform land administration and management to be at par with the system in Abuja. We have awarded a contract for a project called Nasarawa Geographic Information System (NAGIS) to a consortium of consultants at about $10 million to review land administration. The project entails 21st century urbanization process which will make Nasarawa identical with the FCT in terms of development", he said.
