Malawi: Muluzi to Contest Malawi 2014 Polls

Austin Atupele Muluzi son to former Malawi President Bakill Maluzi will face President Joyce Banda in the 2014 presidential elections following his victory on Tuesday evening at a convention of the United Democratic Front (UDF )

Muluzi, who is currently Minister of Economic Planning and Development in President Joyce Banda's inclusive government , pulled 2,308 votes while his opponents Moses Dossi and Ruth Takomana got 23 votes and 3 votes respectively.

The UDF becomes a second party to hold convention after President Banda 's People 's Party(PP) held one in August where the party unanimously elected President Joyce Banda to lead the party to polls in 2014.
