Lagos — The tragic case of Miss Cynthia Osukogu, who was murdered in a hotel at Festac town, Lagos on July 22, 2012, could not hold, yesterday, following the absence of the magistrate who is currently on leave.

However, the defendants' counsel and prosecution team, led by Chukwu Agwu, failed to agree on an adjourned date.

Magistrate Olalekan Aka-Bashorun of the Yaba Magistrate Court had ordered the suspects to be remanded in prisons until November 5, when the matter comes again for hearing.

However, yesterday, the court registrar announced that the court would not sit because the magistrate was on leave, fixing the matter to November 27 but both parties failed to agree on the date.

Reacting to the adjourned date, the defendants' counsel requested for another date but the prosecutor did not agree with the date chosen by them. The court registrar then urged the parties in the matter to agree on a date, which was not resolved at the time of this report.
