The Government of Ekiti State has indicated interest to work with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) in the implementation of the Agency's 'One Local Government Area, One Product' programme otherwise known as OLOP, an enterprise development initiative modelled after Japan's 'One Village, One Product'.
The programme, which is supported by Japan International Cooperation (JICA), was designed to develop and brand each of the 774 Local Government Areas [LGAs] in Nigeria with a product of competitive and comparative advantage.
