Tunisia: NCA Speaker Confers With Iraqi Parliament Speaker

Tunis — Speaker of Iraq's Parliament Oussama al-Noujaifi said, in a meeting on Monday with National Constituent Assembly (NCA) Speaker Mustapha Ben Jaafar, that Tunisia is entitled to serve as a role model in the region.

"Success of the Tunisian Revolution and the establishment of legitimate institutions, built upon the foundations of a modern State, allow Tunisia to be a role model in the whole Arab-Muslim region," said Mr. Al-Noujaifi.

NCA speaker, for his part, pointed out that Tunisia is on the process of establishing a democracy which rests on pluralism, diversity and equality. All the living forces, he added, are well aware of this important responsibility in spite of their political frictions, reads a communiqué of the NCA.
