Liberia: NBI, Human Rights Activist in Court

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the Executive Director of the Independent Civil and Human Rights Center (ICHRC) Melvin Page and his lawyer Attorney Nelson Jallah, are expected to face Criminal Court 'C" today over charges of allegedly soliciting US$25,000 from the management of the Dhaliwah Business Trading Company (DITCO).

Peter Gbeneweleh, presiding Judge at Criminal Assizes "C" will entertain hearing into a writ of Habeas Corpus filed by defense counsels against the NBI for holding Civil Rights Advocate Melvin Page and his Attorney in prison for 48 hours.
