Gambia: 24 Britons Conferred Honorary Citizenship of Lamin

The Council of Elders and villagers of Lamin in the Kombo North District of the West Coast Region, on Saturday conferred honorary citizenship of the community on 24 Britons, in recognition of their philanthropic contribution to the development of the village over the years.

The event, which was held at the village's Bantaba, was an opportunity for the villagers to showcase the different cultural and traditional heritage of this multi-ethnic community. There was also a narration of the history of the village by a member of the Council of Elders, Alhaji Momodou Manneh, as well as a presentation of certificates of Honorary Citizenship to the new members of the community.
