Namibia: Outcome of Supreme Court Election Challenge

WE regard ourselves as the latest victims of the Rally for Democracy and Progress Youth League (RDPYL) and NamRights after they intellectually defamed us. In exercising our right to express opinions on matters concerning our country, we were attacked by RDPYL and NamRights.

A brief background will suffice here - sometime in May 2012, the Rally for Democracy and Progress and NamRights commented on what they called our "lack of academic finesse" based on the analyses we provided to The Villager on the election case by the RDP and other political parties. In those analyses, we correctly predicted that the Supreme Court would not rule to nullify the results. We respond thus - looking backward at the climax of that event, the criticism by the RDPYL and NamRights has proven to be an act of political expedience rather than a serious debate about the substance of our argument.
