Egypt: Nation Urges International Community to Fight Racism, Discrimination Against Immigrants

Egypt's delegation to the UN in New York has asked for the formulation of legal and executive mechanisms to confront racist calls and violence incitement against immigrants and foreigners under the pretext of freedom of expression.

The Foreign Ministry, on its official Facebook page, said on Tuesday 6/11/2012 the Egyptian mission at the UN also called on all countries to respect their commitments, protect the rights of immigrants and stop attempts to marginalize them socially and economically.

Immigrants should be allowed to keep their cultural identity and practice their religion freely, the ministry stressed.
