Jason Dunford struck his third gold at at the FINA World swimming series in Tokyo yesterday. The Kenyan Commonwealth Games butterfly gold medallist clinched gold in the 50m butterfly clocking 23:02.
Australia's Ashley Delaney clinched silver in 23:18 with China's Qibion Zhang settled for the bronze in 23:30 Dunford held a slender lead over Delaney at the halfway mark but then powered ahead in the closing stages to win the race.
Elsewhere Kenya Swimming Federation chairman Ben Ekumbo has been elected to serve as the secretary and treasurer of the Confederation of African Swimming Association, CANA. Ekumbo was the only candidate vying for the post.
