The federal government yesterday approved the sum of N7.444 billion for various projects across the country, including the contract awarded to Julius Berger Nig. Plc for the rehabilitation of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Parliament Building in Abuja.
A breakdown of the said money approved at the Federal Executive Council (FEC) for the projects show that the ECOWAS building to be bankrolled by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) statutory allocation will gulp N3.432 billion.
The construction of a 23 kilometre road in Ondo State by the Ministry of Niger Delta will gulp N3.564.991 billion as the completion of the Ibadan-Oyo expressway was augmented by N444 million.
FEC presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan Wednesday, also received a memo from the Ministry of Power on the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on two hydro-electric power projects- Mambila and Zungeru.
