Alhaji Umaru Duhu is the chairman of the Adamawa State chapter of the All Nigeria Peoples Party, (ANPP) and a close political associate of former Borno State governor. Ali Modu Sheriff. In this encounter with a group of journalists in Abuja, Duhu spoke on the origin of the sect and how their operations have affected his party more than any other in the country. Excerpts:

The ANPP BOT chairman, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff is alleged to be the mastermind of Boko Haram. How would you react to that?
