A film festival organized by the Ethiopian Film Makers Association, in collaboration with the Blue Nile Film and Television Academy, opened yesterday (November 7th).

The Colors of the Nile International Film Festival has attracted film makers from 28 African countries. Some 58 film submissions are to be considered for awards and prizes. The awards, which will be given for a variety of classifications, and will include documentary and long and short-story categories, will be presented to nominees over the next four days.

The festival will also include a range of activities and training workshops aimed at developing the talents of Ethiopian film makers. Several Ethiopian productions, including 'Yelomi Shita', 'Yeberew Wileta' and 'Psychology 101', have been nominated for awards.
