Nigeria: Ihedioha to Establish Crops Processing Centres

Owerri — Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Emeka Ihedioha has pledged to establish three cassava, yam, cocoa yam and fruits processing plants in Imo State to boost crops food production in the state.

He made the pledge during the passing out ceremony of 700 youths and women who benefitted from his agro-training programme organized in collaboration with the National Root Crops Research Institute Umudike in Abia State. The Deputy Speaker said for the programme to be sustained, he would fund the establishment of the processing pilot schemes to be sited in Okigwe, Owerri and Orlu zones of Imo State.
