Angola: Agriculture Minister Works in Benguela

Benguela — The minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Afonso Pedro Canga, is paying as from this Thursday a two-day working visit to the central Benguela province, aimed to check the situation of the sector in the region.

According to the agenda that reached Angop after his arrival, the minister will be welcomed by the provincial governor rand then he will travel to Dombe Grande commune, to visit the irrigated perimeter.

He will meet with the federation of farming cooperatives of Benguela province.

In Benguela district, Afonso Canga will visit logistics centre of Fertiangola, agricultural development parks in the valleys of Cavaco and Catumbela, as well as the agrarian training schools.

The official will also visit the construction works of the industrial abattoir in Benguela and processing tomato and banana factory.

On Friday, the minister will travel to the districts of Cubal, Caimbambo and Ganda, where he will assess the current state of agrarian experimental stations of Alto Capaca, Zootechnic of Ganda and coffee.

In Cubal, the minster will learn about the current state of implementation of the agro-industrial parks.

The minister will return to Luanda on Friday afternoon.
