Zimbabwe: Youth Games Stakeholders Meet

THE Sports Commission are tomorrow expected to host the Zimbabwe National Youth Games stakeholders' conference to review the 10th edition of the Games at St Patricks in Bulawayo. Tirivashe Nheweyembwa, the Sports Commission's communication officer, said they are expecting all the Games stakeholders to attend this meeting.

"The purpose of the conference is to enable the Sports Commission and all key implementing structures, agencies and partners to undertake a comprehensive review of the various facets of the ZNYG project - technical, logistical, financial, educational and organisational - from inception to date.

"It is expected that major resolutions adopted at this session shall influence the strategic direction to be followed as the second ZNYG cycle unfolds from 2013 onwards.

"The Zimbabwe National Youth Games project was incepted in 2003 in Bulawayo as a national strategy meant to identify sporting talent among the youth and feed into the various national teams," Nheweyembwa said.
