Western Sahara: President of Republic Congratulates Barack Obama On His Reelection

Bir Lehlu — President of the Republic and Secretary General of the Frente Polisario, Mohamed Abdelaziz, has sent on Wednesday a congratulatory message to the President of the United States, Barack Obama, on his reelection, calling for major involvement of the US in the efforts of the international community for the decolonization of Western Sahara

"We hope that the U.S., under his leadership, become more involved in the efforts of the international community for the decolonization of Western Sahara, the last colony in Africa," President Mohamed Abdelaziz wrote in his congratulatory message to Obama.

"The Saharawi people, who are victims of foreign occupation for more than three decades, have always considered the United States a strong defender of freedom, democracy and respect for human rights and peoples, a tenacious opponent of tyranny and injustice in the world, " says the President.
