Preparations for Tooro Princess Ruth Komuntale's wedding to her American fiance are in full gear in Fort Portal ahead of the November 17 royal function at St. John's Cathedral, Harukoto.

She will be officialy handed over to the groom, Christopher Thomas, in a traditional ceremony at Gweri parish in Karambi sub-county next Friday.

Despite the heavy rains that have currently rendered most roads in Kabarole district impassable, the authorities are currently upgrading the stretch to Gweri with first-class murram.

Charles Kamurasi, the head of the Babito royal clan, yesterday said: "The kingdom has finalised plans to extend power to Gweri. I have been convinced that it will take only three days and the entire place will be lit up."

He said most guests had already received their invitation cards to the wedding.

The cards have gold printing on royal blue velvet cloth.
