Egypt: Qandil - President of Republic, Prime Minister Subject to Maximum Salary

Prime Minister Hisham Qandil said that the maximum wage will be implemented on all the State employees, including the President of the Republic, the Prime Minister and the Ministers, he added.

The maximum wage is set at 35 times the minimum wage of the government institution an employee works for, he said.

Speaking at a press conference held following a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday 7/11/2012, Qandil said that the Cabinet approved extending a law, which considers Port Said a free zone, for two years.

Prime Minister said that the Interior Minister handed over a report to him on the incidents in Sinai.

Also, the measures taken by the Interior Ministry to step up security presence in Sinai were discussed, he added. A first meeting for the Sinai Development Authority will be held soon, he added.
