The frustration of finding good French wine and when found, exorbitant pricing, was the motivation behind the opening of Le Decanter at the ABC Place, Waiyaki Way, in Nairobi.

The vibrant cocktail on Thursday evening marked the launch of the gourmet shop, the brainchild of hotelier Julie Smith. A glass of Cuvée Prestige champagne was served as guests walked into the lounge area.

During the course of the evening, there was a wine tasting session of different wines like Alsace Sylvaner, Chateau la Grezalle from Bordeaux and pina colada cocktails.
