Egypt: Church Delegation Invites President to Attend Enthronement Ceremony

The Coptic Orthodox Church's Holy Synod under acting Patriarch Bishop Pachomius hold meeting on Thursday 8/11/2012 to discuss final touches on ceremonies to enthrone Bishop Tawadros II as the 118th Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of Saint Mark Diocese.

The meeting will be attended by Synod members as well as members of the Milli (Lay) Council and representatives of the Coptic Endowments Organization but will not be attended by Pope Tawadros II, who is staying at the Anba Bishuy Monastery in Wadi al-Natrun until the day of his investiture.

The Synod is also discussing the way an invitation will be extended to the President to attend the ceremony, most probably through a high-level church delegation visiting the Presidency.
