Africa: Kenya Airways Named Best Airline for Tall People

KENYA Airways is the best African airline for tall passengers on economy class and 10th best globally because of its legroom, the annual Business Traveller airline survey shows.

The survey results published recently show that national carrier KQ ties at position ten with Virgin Atlantic and United Airlines because its seats are configured to have a legroom of between 31 and 32 inches long.

The survey was conducted among 32 airlines globally. Hong Kong carrier Cathay Pacific and Singapore Airlines were found to have the best space for tall passengers with leg room at 32 inches long.

Business Traveller , an online travel magazine said it collated and checked more than 8,000 individual items of data from 32 airlines for the airline survey.

Spanish based Iberia and budget airline Easy Jet were last in the ranking with a leg space only 28 and 29 inches long respectively. The survey which also comprehensively looked at the seat size showed that Air Canada has the widest seats at between 18 and 18.5 inches long.

KQ was ranked 13th in terms of seat width with a seat 18.5 inches wide. KQ tied with Emirates, American and Japan airlines and also Oman Air.

Another budget airline Ryanair also came last under the seat width ranking 16 inch wide seats which were considered the narrowest among those surveyed.

Singapore airline and Virgin Atlantic were second and third best respectively in terms of seat space. Singapore airline seats were found to be between 17.9 and 18.6 inches long while Virgin's seats measured between 17.5 and 19 inches long.
