Angolans Told to Recall President's Figure As Country Moves Forward

Menongue — The director of justice in south-eastern province José Carlos Thursday urged the Angolans to remember the figure of the President, José Eduardo dos Santos.

Speaking on national independence, achieved on November 11, 1975, under the leadership of the 1st president, António Agostinho Neto, the official mentioned many steps, especially in the direction taken by the political and economic independence of Angolans.

"After the Independence, Angola took a new direction and economic policy. Today we have a free country, sovereign, with a self determined people, with their own opinion, judging by the political and economic independence, "he stated.

José Carlos stressed that the achievement of peace in 2002 is a great pride, as the country went through a long war, but now the Angolans are reunite, thanks to the commitment of the statesman José Eduardo dos Santos.
