THE Zambia Amateur Boxing Federation (ZABF) has acquired the K35 million needed to facilitate the trip for the six local boxers who have been invited to participate in an international tournament in Tanzania this weekend.
ZABF president Thomas Chileshe confirmed in an interview yesterday that Government, through the Ministry of Sport, had released money which was meant to cover all tournament logistics.
"I can confirm that the Government has released the money which we needed to participate in the tournament to be hosted by Tanzania this weekend," Chileshe said.
He expressed gratitude to the Government as well as the Tanzanian Boxing Body that last week postponed the event in order to allow their Zambian counterparts to source for funds.
