THE Rural Electrification Authority (REA) has signed contracts to a tune of K149.4 billion for 21 projects under the 2012 Gird Extension Projects in all the 10 provinces in Zambia.
REA has signed contracts with successful bidders to implement the 2012 Gird Extension Projects in various provinces in Zambia.
This was contained in a statement issued by the corporate affairs department yesterday.
"The successful bidders were awarded contracts after the conclusion of the public tender process in line with the Zambia Public Procurement Authority procedures," the statement reads.
REA would now start a programme of ground-breaking ceremonies or site handovers to contractors in the project areas.
The exercise would be conducted between November 8 and 12, this year.
"The contract periods for all the projects will range from 12 to 40 weeks implementation," the statement further reads.
