Nigeria: Sokoto - Again, PHCN Cuts Power Supply to Govt Institutions

Sokoto — Barely 48 hours after the restoration of electricity to Sokoto after four days of blackout, the Power Holding Company of Nigeria yesterday embarked on mass disconnection of state government establishments.

Secretary of the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) for Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara States Yusuf Abdulkarim said the disconnection only affected those institutions that were indebted, excluding hospitals and water board.

He said it was a directive from agency's national headquarters.
