Nigeria: CDS - Civil-Military Relation in Tight Spot

Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral Ola Sa'ad Ibrahim, yesterday said soldiers were facing serious challenge in relating with civilians during civil disturbances.

The CDS, represented by the Chief of Research and Development, Major General A.K Amao, made the remarks during the public presentation of a book "National Security Challenges; a general checklist on civil-military relations as panacea" in Abuja.

In his remarks, The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Professor Attahiru Jega, said in determining effective civil-military relation, the civilian and the military must work together.
