Namibia: Run for Charity This Weekend

After having hosted a successful edition in 2011, the Namibia Runs for Charity (NRC) is back again and will this Saturday be hosting the 2012 charity run at the Independence Arena in Katutura

With a total amount of N$52 000 collected at last year's event, athletes will again be looking forward to Saturday's event with the aim of making a difference in the lives of the needy, and to show their humanity through sports.

To participate as a runner, you are required to organise a personal sponsor(s) by asking your friends, family, colleagues from work or anyone to donate a particular amount of money (minimum N$1) for every lap completed.

As a runner, you will not only help the needy in Namibia but you also stand a chance of winning fantastic prizes, which will be awarded in the following two categories - for most laps completed and for raising the most money. The track will be open as from 9am until 4pm and participants can run or walk as many laps as they want. The total money you raise (laps x sponsored money per lap) will be donated to a needy project or a charity of your choice.

Lively entertainment has been organised for the event and will feature the Equipped Dance Academy and artist Sean K, as well as the Aris choir and many others.
