Kano — The security challenge facing the country has been blamed for the lack of activities at the Kano Golf Club for the greater part of the outgoing year, Captain of the club Babangida Umar told members during the club's Annual General Meeting (AGM).
According to the Captain, the situation has led to the club not being able to carry out most of its planned programmes and activities this year.
"A lot of businesses, other social and recreational activities in the state and some parts of
Northern Nigeria have recorded a huge decline this year; Kano Golf Club is not an exception. "Therefore, as members of this club, we have to thank God for sparing our lives to witness this AGM", the Captain said.
During the AGM, the club's caretaker committee was dissolved and a new leadership of the club was elected with Babangida Umar as the club's elected Captain. In his speech the President Kano Golf Club Alhaji Muhmmad Koguna urged the newly elected leaders to exhibits the spirit of sportsmanship and to conduct their activities according to the dictates of the club's rules and regulations.
