To ensure that the counter-terror course offered at the Nigeria Army Training Center (NATRAC) in Kontagora, Niger State serves its purpose, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika has expanded the programme.
A press release from the centre by Brigadier-General E. D Amah explained that "The COAS recently expanded and remodeled the programme where focus on training counter terrorism and counter insurgency is conducted."
The leadership package of the course has also been redesigned to equip soldiers with command skills and to be able to lead sub-units on operations effectively. The centre which is being nursed to take over training programmes at the Command and Staff College, Jaji in Kaduna State, graduated the first batch of young soldiers on 10th of September.
